THE ROAD OF EXCESS is a raw, moving, and often humorous feature documentary that explores the pitfalls of celebrity culture through the eyes of Welsh skate legend and ex-Dirty Sanchez star, Mathew Pritchard.
After a decade of extreme stunts, substance abuse, and the chaotic whirlwind of MTV fame, Pritchard finds himself at a crossroads. Seeking redemption and a way to quiet his inner demons, he swaps a life of partying for a life of grueling endurance sports. The film follows Matt as he embarks on his most dangerous challenge yet: joining a four-man team to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
Through candid interviews with his former Dirty Sanchez co-stars, his family, and his closest friends, The Road of Excess peels back the “macho” bravado to reveal a story about toxic masculinity, mental health, and the desperate search for connection and meaning when the cameras stop rolling.
